INTRODUCING GABRIELA TORCATORU
Welcome to my world - Lalaland!
Yoga is a lot of things, most of which you may already be aware of having lead you here. Yoga is a path, a journey which I have decided to walk upon making it my goal to teach the benefits of the practice to as many people as I possibly can. I will be learning from Guru's along the way, forever a student in order to be able to be a good teacher.
MY CLASSES & WHAT TO EXPECT
Perfection in Action is Yoga
To tell you a little bit about myself...I have been practicing yoga since 2016 and I have chosen yoga as a path with the entire philosophy that comes since beginning of 2019. My professional background started in India where I finished my 500 TTC (Teacher Training Course) then stayed on helping out with teaching at the school. Since then my life has been a wonderful adventure in which my hunger for knowledge takes me forward. This desire of knowledge made me become a yoga teacher and I am the breathing and living example of how yoga can benefit oneself. So what better way to contribute to the global collective then imparting this knowledge?!
I learned and practice Hatha Yoga, the style of yoga that gave birth to all the other yoga names we hear these days, like Vinyasa, Iyengar, Power Flow to name a few. Also practicing all these different styles I managed to find my own voice, my own way of teaching yoga. In my classes we will always start with our breath learning to hold space for ourselves and learning to take time to come into our bodies. This is what yoga is about, being focused and aware of everything that is happening and facilitating this union of breath, body and mind. And that is hard, but also extremely rewarding once we realise how wonderful and complex human beings are and how much more we can learn by improving our health, our behaviour and thought patterns. If someone would ask me how could they live a happier life I would tell them to start up a yoga practice and if it's for them, then stick to it and they will see the results coming. It can become a happy pill.
OM SHANTI SHANTI SHANTI
Yoga as a physical practice started out with 15 postures according to Hatha Yoga Pradipika a 15th century Sanskrit manual on Hatha Yoga, and the goal of the asana practice was to develop strength and resilience in order to sit comfortably for longer periods of time for meditation.
Ask yourself how much importance do you give to your breath?
It is an involuntary muscle that does the work for you so it's a no brainer.
Have you ever wondered whether you breathe correctly?
MEDITATION AND RELAXATION
We live stressful lives and we hear about the practice of mindfulness, but do we really understand what meditation is?!
ALIGNMENT TO FLOW
Hold or Flow
I am a strong believer in flowing in life. Take everything that we are faced with as a learning curve from which we improve, we make ourselves and our lives better.
In order to build anything we need a strong foundation. When we build a house, when we build relationships, when we build our lives or when we build up to our yoga practice.
Learn how to align yourself and then flow.
"...yoga itself means breaking through the limitations of the individual and becoming truly a Universal person."
Muscles create movement, joints enable movement and connective tissue translates movement from tissue to tissue. Bones absorb and transmit movement to the nervous system and organise this whole gorgeous dance.
